"The goals of the visual archive are threefold: to provide wide spread accessibility to the full scope of the artists paintings, drawings, and murals; to provide scholars the resources for further study and
interpretation of his work; and to provide educators the tools to use Lawrences imagery in the
K-12 classroom.
The final version of this 'imagebase' will be published in tandem with a 2-volume book sharing the
same information but with scholarly essays and more in depth analysis of each work. Publishing
electronically offers viewers an altogether different experience than publishing in a printed format: it
is more accessible, it can be instantly updated, and allows for greater functionality, interactivity and
cost efficiency". Back to text of story.
